Discover La Sabbia

If you're ever in the heart of Apollonas, Greece, and craving a satisfying meal with a stunning atmosphere, La Sabbia is the place to visit. Nestled in the beautiful coastal village of Apiranthou-Ormou Apollona, this charming diner serves up delicious dishes that perfectly blend traditional Greek flavors with a modern twist. Whether you're a local or a tourist, you'll feel right at home in this inviting spot by the sea.

The ambiance of La Sabbia is something special. Picture yourself sitting in a cozy, rustic setting with warm wooden accents, large windows offering sweeping views of the azure waters, and soft Mediterranean breezes carrying the smell of fresh seafood. The atmosphere immediately relaxes you, making it the ideal spot for a leisurely meal with family, friends, or even a romantic evening. One of the things that sets this restaurant apart is its friendly and welcoming service, which truly makes a difference when you're enjoying a laid-back meal.

On the menu, you’ll find a wide range of Mediterranean delights, but it’s the seafood that really stands out. La Sabbia is known for sourcing the freshest local ingredients, and their fish dishes are a true reflection of this commitment. From grilled octopus to perfectly cooked sea bass, each dish showcases the bounty of the Aegean Sea. A particular favorite is their shrimp saganaki, where tender shrimp are cooked in a rich tomato sauce, topped with melted feta cheese, creating a dish that's both comforting and bursting with flavor.

But seafood isn’t the only thing you’ll find here. La Sabbia offers a variety of Mediterranean-inspired options, including tender lamb, grilled vegetables, and even vegan-friendly options. Each dish is prepared with care, using fresh, local produce to create simple yet flavorful plates. The Greek salad, for example, comes with perfectly ripe tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, and a generous helping of feta cheese, all drizzled with rich olive oil and sprinkled with herbs. It’s a great side to any main course or perfect on its own as a light, refreshing meal.

The wine list at La Sabbia is another highlight, with a selection of both local and international wines that perfectly complement the food. Greek wines are often overlooked, but here, you’ll find some hidden gems that elevate the dining experience. The staff is knowledgeable about the wine pairings, and they’re always happy to make recommendations based on your tastes and the dishes you’ve chosen.

What makes La Sabbia even more special is its location in Apiranthou-Ormou Apollona. Situated in one of the most picturesque areas of Greece, the diner provides an ideal setting for enjoying a meal while soaking in the natural beauty surrounding you. Whether you're dining indoors or sitting outside on the terrace, the view of the sparkling waters and rugged coastline is simply breathtaking. After your meal, you can take a stroll along the beach, enjoying the tranquility of the area and the warm Mediterranean climate.

Reviews of La Sabbia are overwhelmingly positive, with guests praising both the quality of the food and the laid-back atmosphere. Many return for the relaxed vibe and the excellent service, which makes it feel like more than just a restaurant-it feels like a home away from home. The consistent quality of the dishes keeps people coming back, and it’s clear that this place has earned its reputation as one of the top dining spots in the area.

In terms of value, La Sabbia offers great prices for the quality of food and service you get. While you might pay a little more than at some other places in the area, the experience, the ambiance, and the flavors more than make up for it. The portions are generous, and the attention to detail in each dish reflects a restaurant that takes pride in its offerings.

If you're ever in Apollonas, Greece, don’t miss out on a meal at La Sabbia. From the fresh seafood to the warm, inviting atmosphere, it’s a place where you’ll not only enjoy great food but also create memories that will last a lifetime. • This is a sure bet. The woman who runs the place (also makes the orange pie) is really lovely. I’ve been to many beach cafes and this one is among the best for a seaside village.

  • This bar/restaurant is located in a small village so the tourism industry here is not that crowed wich makes the environment more pleasant and relax. By passing by we were welcomed by the lady wich was the host and also the cooker. She was AMAZING AND VERY Simpatic. We decided to try and the Food was very good and not expensive for the amount of food. Recommend this place if you visiting the ‘Kouros’ or even passing by… definitely not gona regret!

  • Amazing spot just a step off the beach. Perfect place to grab a bite and hang out. Delicious burgers, club sandwich, savory crepes, omelette (I had the one with potato, cheese & sausage) and coffee & desserts, too. Warm, friendly service, ice cold beer & afternoon frappe!

  • Absolutely stunning spot to sit and enjoy views of the bay. Waves gently rolling over into the beach. As this is early season? There was absolutely no one around, except us. The owner was the sweetest and warmest lady, maybe ever. She was so welcoming, and even offered cold water. After a month in Italy with rude service at gelato shops, this was a treat. She deserves all the business By the way, the ices cream was delicious and reasonable.

  • We ordered the Loukoumades, which is traditional honey dumplings with cinnamon. Yum. One serve was enough for two to share.

  • Holy smokes. I have no idea how they do it in that small kitchen but some of the best food I’ve had in all of Greece. The service is friendly and very accommodating! The owners are a sweet family that fill their food with love. Come here for breakfast and lunch, you won’t be disappointed!

  • They market their Loukomades as the best, and they are right! So so delicious! The gyro platter I had later that evening was pretty average, but the view and atmosphere was brilliant. The young girl running around serving all the tables was really friendly.

  • What a lovely establishment. The lady running the restaurant and serving us was very welcoming and has a great sense of humour. The baklava and orange pie we ordered were the best we had on the island, baked by her, and as she stated "very nice!" We can't recommend this place enough.
